"My brother lived with me after our parents were gone. After he passed away, I was alone in the house. My sister said I should let her know when I needed help and she would find someone. When I eventually called her, she looked in the newspaper and saw an ad for Intervention Associates. It was really wonderful for us!
I wanted to live in my own home, in the neighborhood I grew up in, in the same house as my mother and father. My dad had the house built after World War II. He hired all of the people—the plumber, the electrician, the mason. My brother helped the mason carry the stone.
Our home is a wonderful place to live and I didn’t want to leave it, but I needed some help to take me here and there. I felt that I shouldn’t drive anymore, because I watched all the older people driving slowly and other drivers honking at them. I called Intervention Associates and told them I needed someone to drive me to all my appointments and to church.
All of the women from Intervention Associates have been wonderful to take me all over, and my friends and family have enjoyed them all. It has been a wonderful education finding out about different countries and cultures. I am so glad to have people from all different countries helping me. And Lori, my care manager, is a wonderful person. You can talk to her about anything. She was here many times and she knows what I like."
