Raymond's Story

"I contacted Intervention Associates to obtain assistance in caring for my elderly parents. Overall, they were in fair condition, but my father was suffering from a chronic health problem and it was becoming increasingly difficult for my mother to take care of him. My parents desired to continue living in their own home, despite their increasing need for assistance, and Intervention Associates helped us accomplish this. Intervention Associates provided the services (care and comfort) that allowed us to feel confident that my parents were being cared for in a thorough and responsible fashion.

I chose Intervention Associates because they have qualified people and the right amount of organization and structure. Other organizations seem to be poorly staffed and somewhat unreliable. My experience with Intervention Associates has proven that they are committed and responsible in delivering their services.

Initially, Intervention Associates provided home care services several days per week on a part-time basis. These services consisted of preparing and serving meals, light housekeeping and assistance with daily living activities.  The need for services increased after a surgery and hospitalization, and we were able to obtain 24-hour care. The live-in aide provided additional assistance with mobility issues and rehabilitation activities, in addition to caring for my parents during the night. 

The quality of service that my parents receive has been consistent, thorough and professional. The people at Intervention Associates can look at a situation objectively and provide a number of options for solving problems. Our care manager regularly provides written progress reports to us summarizing the care being provided, along with her personal observations and recommendations. The live-in aides are helpful and responsive, and we have been impressed with the consistency and quality of all the aides who have provided assistance to my parents.

Most of all, I’ve been impressed with the overall professionalism in which Intervention Associates conducts its activities.  After our initial contact, a care manager came out to our home and spent over two hours talking with us and learning about my parents’ specific needs. This was followed up with a written report summarizing our discussion. Susan, our care manager, has been our constant contact throughout our relationship with Intervention Associates.  She has been available during the day and at night, and has provided us with insight, compassion and practical solutions to problems on many occasions. 

I would definitely recommend Intervention Associates to anyone who needs a reliable resource in caring for an elderly individual."
